Paradox is a statement that seems to go against common sense but may still be true. A paradox usually involves contradictory-yet-interrelated elements that exist simultaneously and persist over time. They result in "persistent contradiction between interdependent elements" leading to a lasting "unity of opposites”.
For many experts, 2016 was the hardest year in Venezuela for several reasons with political turmoil, collapsing economy and one of the highest murder rates in the world. Paradoxically, Venezuela still going as normal as possible.
2016: Paradox+58 is a photographic project that shows my personal view during that year, in which I was able to be at many contradictory but interrelated scenarios. For me, this country became a paradox.
